Interview Transcription by KATTS

Since KATTS was established in 2003, I have transcribed hundreds if not thousands of interviews of all shapes and sizes:

interview transcription using a table layout, long interview transcription, short interview transcription, medium-to-large interview transcription projects, small interview transcription projects and everything in between.

Anyone who has worked on their own interview transcription could possibly think I was just a little bit crazy to want to do so much interview transcription.

Well in fact providing interview transcription is a large part of KATTS' transcription services business and is actually enjoyable as the subject matters and clients can be so diverse.

For instance, KATTS is working on a medium-sized interview transcription project for a University at the moment. Next week KATTS will also be working on interview transcription for a student studying for their PhD qualification.

The interview transcription projects KATTS cover are not limited to academic having also worked on quite a number of interview transcription projects for:

corporate businesses, museums, authors, market research, health & safety, solicitors, police, SMEs, charities, social enterprise, broadcasters, including independent broadcasters, entrepreneurs... you get the idea.

Interview transcription is quite a time-consuming task and so outsourcing this type of work does make a lot of sense.

This is where KATTS can help. Outsourcing your interview transcription to KATTS is easy and will provide you with a personal interview transcription service.

If you would like to learn more about the interview transcription services KATTS provides then pop over to the interview transcription page of the website at www.kingaudio.co.uk. If you like what you see email KATTS for an interview transcription quotation.

Disciplinary & Grievance Hearing Transcription at KATTS

Having added a new page to my website entitled Disciplinary Hearing and Grievance Hearing transcription, I thought I would let you know about this here on my blog.

I have been transcribing Disciplinary and Grievance Hearings for several years and am now looking to expand this aspect of the transcription services I offer.

One of my clients is a growing London-based company and it has been my pleasure to provide them with Disciplinary and Grievance Hearing transcriptions for the past five years.

Another of my clients is a large local company and as well as Disciplinary and Grievance Hearing transcriptions, I also help them with appraisal meeting transcription for their Human Resources (HR) Department.

I offer a completely confidential and impartial transcription service and produce transcripts that can be shared with all parties involved if necessary. This takes the strain out of making copious notes during the meeting, which facilitates a more focussed approach

Besides saving my clients hours and hours of transcription time, the Disciplinary and Grievance Hearing transcription services KATTS provides saves the cost of having an employee in house to transcribe these lengthy meetings, so using KATTS transcription services is a win win situation.

Click here to visit the Disciplinary Hearing and Grievance Hearing transcription page at the KATTS website and contact me for a quotation.

KATTS has now gone live with Facebook Timeline. I wasn't sure about Timeline at first because I felt comfortable with the old layout, a bit like the comfy slippers. However, Timeline has really grown on me and I actually prefer it now. I love the cover picture element.

Check out my page at http://www.facebook.com/KATTS03 and let me know what you think or 'Like' my page.

Have you got Facebook Timeline? I'd love to see your Facebook pages so leave your Facebook address in the comments below so I can pop along and take a look; if I like it I'll 'Like' it.

What does your transcription services quote include?

I was interested to read on a LinkedIn group that apparently not all companies providing transcription services produce transcripts with full punctuation and paragraphs as standard. This is fine if the client has requested this style of transcription, if not the client will get a surprise when they receive the completed transcript.

Imagine a transcript like that, no punctuation, no paragraphs, just one long string of text. To make a transcript of this style legible could be a long task; it may even defeat the object of outsourcing transcription in the first place.

One would think that punctuation and splitting text into paragraphs where appropriate would be standard across the transcription services industry and fundamental to producing quality transcripts. However, in the current economic climate perhaps a minority of transcription providers are trying to cut transcription time in order to offer cheaper services and thereby compromising quality of service.

It is therefore important to check with your transcription service provider initially to find out exactly what is included in the quoted transcription price.

As a professional transcription services business KATTS provide as standard - unless instructed otherwise by the client:

  • full punctuation
  • breaking text into paragraphs where appropriate
  • researching names of people and places on the internet where possible to gain the correct spellings
  • identification of speakers in 1:1 interview transcription if required
  • a full proofread of the transcript against the original audio
  • spell checking
  • complete confidentiality

All of these things are included in the quoted transcription price at KATTS.

New look KATTS transcription services website for 2012

Firstly I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year and  a healthy, happy and prosperous 2012.

And with the New Year comes the new look KATTS Professional Transcription Services website. I have been working on this for a little while and with the help of my 16 year old tech-savvy son - although don't blame him for the coding for which he has chastised me - I am on schedule to unveil my new website.

The website has a new logo and uses the acronym of King Audio Transcription & Typing Services, KATTS as it is less of a mouthful. The professional transcription services will remain the same, still offering the same quality of service that it has been my pleasure to provide since 2003.

You may be wondering about the seagull at this stage. Well that was a slight indulgence on my part. I am fortunate enough to live near the sea in the South West of the UK and I do like the seagulls. To me the seagull logo symbolises freedom, which I thought was quite appropriate as the transcription services I provide free you to do something else.

I think the website is now more user-friendly with links to services on the home page displayed in list form in order to stand out and be clearer.

Also I have endeavoured to keep the interface clean and uncluttered as I find this approach much more user-friendly and less distracting. Nothing worse than being faced with a website that's got so much going on that you can't immediately find what you're looking for especially when you're busy and short of time.

So I hope I have achieved my aim of making the KATTS website more user-friendly and easier to navigate in order to save you time.

You can visit the new website at the usual website address: www.kingaudio.co.uk or www.katts.co.uk, which will redirect you to the website.

I would really value your opinions, so if you have any feedback for me please leave a comment below or contact me via my Contact link of the website. Many thanks.
